Master-Bilt heater/proofers are known for their dual-purpose versatility and top-notch dependability. Although these units are built to last, problems may still occur on occasion. If you want to keep your equipment in good working order, this Master-Bilt heater/proofer troubleshooting guide will help you identify and resolve issues with your machine quickly and easily.

This information is for the HP6A-LX heater/proofing cabinet.

Heater/Proofer Won’t Turn On

  • Machine isn’t plugged in - Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
  • Unit isn’t turned on - Flip the power switch to the “On” position.
  • On/Off switch or power cord is defective - Call an authorized technician to service the unit.
  • Outlet doesn’t have power - Reach out to a licensed electrician to address the issue.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped/fuse is blown - Turn the circuit breaker on. If issues persist, contact a licensed electrician for assistance.

Cabinet Is Too Cold

  • Door is open - Close the door.
  • Door seal is cracked or worn - Replace the seal.
  • Thermostat setting is too low - Set the unit to a higher temperature. Be sure to adjust the temperature one increment at a time in order to find the best setting.
  • Thermostat is defective - Schedule a service appointment with a licensed technician.

Machine Is Too Hot

  • Thermostat setting is too high - Lower the temperature setting. Remember to change the setting one increment at a time in order to find the ideal temperature.
  • Thermostat is defective - Contact an authorized technician to correct the issue.

No Humidity In Unit

  • Pan is out of water - Add water to the pan.
  • Selector switch is set to “Heat” - Set the switch to “Proof.”
  • Humidity thermostat is set too low - Raise the humidity setting. Keep in mind that the best setting is usually 1/4 to 1/3 of maximum.
