The Merrychef eikon e4 high-speed countertop convection oven cooks food quickly. By combining three heat technologies (convection heat, impingement air and microwave energy), it can cook food up to 20 times faster than conventional ovens. To maintain optimal performance and comply with hygiene standards, daily cleaning is a must. For instructions on how to clean a Merrychef eikon e4 oven, see the guide below.

Supplies List

  • Heat-Proof Gloves
  • Oven Cleaner
  • Protective Eyewear
  • Cloths
  • Non-Abrasive Sponge
  • Dust Mask (optional)

Cleaning the Oven Parts

Allow the oven to cool down until you begin the cleaning procedure.

  • Step 1. Take off the air filter - Located at the base of the oven. Remove by lifting off.
  • Step 2. Remove the oven parts - Open oven door and take out:
  • Oven Rack - Located in the center of the oven cavity. Remove by lifting out.
    • Grease Filter - Secured to the rear wall of the cavity. Remove by lifting out.
    • Top Impinger Plate - Take out by undoing the fasteners securing the plate to the roof of the oven cavity.
    • Bottom Impinger Plate - Remove by lifting out.
  • Step 3. Examine the oven cavity for evidence of arcing - A rough, burnt texture or ripped, open crack in the metal are evidence of arcing.
  • Step 4. Inspect the door seal for wear and tear - The door seal should be soft, not hard or brittle, and there should be no cracks or open gaps.
  • Step 5. Wash removed parts - Wash oven parts and air filter in warm, soapy water, using a sponge to remove any food particles.
  • Step 6. Dry the parts - Use a clean, dry cloth to dry the parts before replacing them.

Cleaning the Cavity & Door

  • Step 1. Clean spills and food particles - Use disposable paper wipes to clean spills and a dry, clean brush to remove food particles from the oven cavity and door. Be sure to clean the space between the oven door and floor, too.
  • Step 2. Wipe the sides of the cavity with cleaner - Spray a non-caustic oven cleaner onto a non-abrasive sponge and wipe the roof, base, sides, and door.
    • DO NOT wipe the oven cleaner onto the door seal.
    • DO NOT spray the oven cleaner directly into the fan opening at the back of the cavity.
  • Step 3. Let the oven cleaner soak for 10 minutes - Keep the door open as the cleaner soaks. After soaking, difficult to remove spills and stains will be easier to clean.
  • Step 4. Remove the oven cleaner - Use a clean cloth and warm water to wipe down the oven cavity and door.
  • Step 5. Dry the oven cavity - Use a clean, dry cloth or paper towel to dry the roof, base, sides and door.
  • Step 6. Replace the cleaned oven parts - If necessary, dry them with a clean cloth.
  • Step 7. Replace the air filter - If needed, dry it with a clean cloth.
  • Step 8. Wipe down the outside - Close the oven door and use a damp cloth to wipe the outside of the oven.
