Lennox Replacement Compressors

Parts Town has a wide variety of Trane compressors to ensure your equipment is running safely and efficiently. Rely on us for an extensive inventory of dependable HVAC maintenance solutions. Helping compress refrigerants, these components are at the heart of cooling and heating solutions. That's why we carry real OEM Trane compressors that fit the proper specifications for the unit, so it can run safely and efficiently.

How Does an HVAC Compressor Work?

Within an HVAC system, the compressor’s function is to increase the pressure of refrigerant vapor to convert it to hot gas. Then, this hot gas becomes condensation as the unit pulls in ambient air using a fan to pull it into the condensing coil and leaving the unit as heated air.

The typical lifespan of an OEM compressor in an HVAC system is roughly between 12 and 15 years. Should you encounter a premature failure of this component, it’s indicative of an underlying issue that needs to be addressed promptly.

What are the Different Types of HVAC Compressors?

When it comes to HVAC compressors, the options are plentiful and vary according to the specific make and model of the system. Examples include centrifugal, rotary, screw, reciprocating, scroll, and hermetic reciprocating compressors.

How to Test an HVAC Compressor

Deactivate the power source to the HVAC compressor before you begin to test it. Once the power is off, remove the protective cover and disconnect the wires. Connect and adjust the multimeter to the wiring. Measure the resistance between the terminals. Once done, reconnect the wires and replace the protective cover.
