Clogged drain lines can back up and cause the drain pan to overflow into a commercial refrigerator. To combat this potential issue, clearing the drain lines every 2-3 months between maintenance checkups can avoid major clogging and leaking. Learn how to clean your commercial refrigeration unit’s drain lines with our helpful video guide, and follow the instructions below.

Cleaning Commercial Refrigerator Drain Lines

  • Step 1—Turn off and unplug the refrigerator unit. Remove all food products from inside.
  • Step 2—Locate the drain lines on your refrigerator.
  • Step 3—Within the open drain line, blow air into the drain lines using condensed CO2 or an air compressor. Water should start draining shortly after.
