Weekly Cleaning Instructions
In addition to daily cleaning, make sure to the following on a weekly basis. Before cleaning, switch the machine off and unplug it from the wall outlet.
Cleaning the Cooking Chamber
- Step 1. Insert a glass saver – Open the lid and place down the high-temperature silicone pad as a glass saver.
- Step 2. Unlock the upper heating plate – Push the unlocking nut backward to unlock the upper heating plate.

- Step 4. Place a cloth in the back area of the lid – Put a damp cloth along the back of the lid and metallic frame.
- Step 5. Apply cleaner – Spray the cleaner all along the inside of the cooking chamber. Let it soak for about a minute. The chamber should be hot to allow the cleaner to work properly.
- Step 6. Scrub and rinse surface – Once the cleaner has soaked and the area has cooled, use an abrasive pad or sponge to scrub the chamber surface. Rinse the area using a wet cloth or paper towel.
- Step 7. Bring the upper heat plate up – Move the upper heating plate, placing it into its highest possible position. You should hear a clicking sound when the plate reaches this point. As you raise it, guide the flexible tube to avoid damage, and make sure the symbols are in the front.
- Step 8. Wipe the back of the lid – Use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe the back of the lid and metallic frame.
- Step 9. Remove the glass saver – When you’re done, remove the glass saver.

- Step 4. Reinstall the front top cover – Once everything is dry, reinstall the front top cover to the unit.
Exterior Cleaning Tips
When cleaning the exterior of a SpeeDelight unit, keep the following tips in mind:
- Don’t use steel wool, abrasive powders or chemical cleaners, such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid or other acidic cleaners. These can severely damage the steel or aluminum surfaces.
- Don’t use sodium hypochlorite, hydrochloric acid or other acidic cleaners in zones next to the unit. Their vapors can damage or harm the appliance.
- Remove stuck-on dirt, grease or sandwich residue with a cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Be sure to wipe with the grain of the satin finish and rinse frequently. Scrubbing in a circular motion and with too many food particles on a cloth or sponge also can damage the exterior.
- Always clean both sides and the back of the unit. Avoid getting water into the unit’s openings.
