How to Clean a Zumex Speed Pro juicer - juicer interior

From cafes and restaurants to grocery stores and hotels, the Zumex Speed Pro and S +Plus Juicers are built to make a wide variety of delicious, natural juices in no time. To keep either unit running smoothly and efficiently, routine cleaning is a must. Some local health codes around the U.S. require a commercial juicer to be cleaned every four hours. With these easy instructions for cleaning a Zumex Speed Pro and S +Plus Juicer, you can do the job right and in no time.

Supplies You’ll Need

  • Non-abrasive sponge
  • Nylon brush (with machine)
  • Dish soap
  • Warm water

Disassembling the Juicer

Zumex juicers are designed for easy disassembly, helping reduce downtime during the cleaning procedure. The steps below are for taking apart the machine.

  • Step 1. Remove the feeder basket & plate – Start by removing the feeder basket and plate at the top of the juicer. When taking out the feeder plate, unfasten the knob in the middle of the plate and lift the plate out.
  • Step 2. Clean the opening at the feeder’s base – You’ll notice a hole at the base of the feeder area that leads to a drainage tube. Insert a thin, soft-bristle brush down to the hole and twist it to clean out any residue or debris from the drainage tube.
  • Step 3. Remove the front cover & side outputs – To remove the front cover and side outputs, turn the knobs so they’re parallel to the openings. Then, lift slightly upward and pull the cover assembly toward you.
  • Step 4. Remove the Automatic PulpOut System – Remove the automatic PulpOut system by lifting the assembly up and towards you.
  • Step 5. Remove the tap – Remove the tap on the front of the machine. Unscrew the tap from the back. Once it’s unfastened, carefully pull the tap towards you.
  • Step 6. Remove the peel guides & bin – After tap is off, remove the bin. First, remove the peel guides on the right and left sides of the bin. Then, press the tabs on the side of the bin. This will unlock the bin, so you can remove it.
  • Step 7. Remove the extraction system – On Speed S +Plus model, take off the 1Step Extraction Kit by unfastening the central knob. Once the knob is unscrewed, hold the stainless steel handles on the assembly and pull towards you. On Speed Pro models, you will need to remove each component of the extraction system individually.
  • Step 8. Remove the blade – To remove the blade, press the center and pull the handle toward you. Be careful handling this part. The blade is very sharp.
  • Step 9. Take out the waste baskets (podium models only) – On machines with a bottom base, open the doors and remove the waste baskets from underneath. Make sure to discard any remnants and food particles.

Cleaning the Juicer

Once the machine has been disassembled, it’s ready to be cleaned. All disassembled parts, excluding the cover and tap, can be cleaned in the dishwasher. The steps below include instructions for cleaning by hand. Parts can be dried with paper towel or by air.

  • Step 1. Clean the front profile of the machine – To clean the front profile, wipe up or down with the sponge. Avoid wiping side to side, especially near the bottom seal that connect the profile to where the juice tray sits.
  • Step 2. Clean the interior of the bottom base (Plus models only) – On Speed Pro Plus machines or models with a bottom base, clean the inside of the bottom base using a sponge or soft-bristle brush. The same cleaning solution of warm water and dish soap should get the job done.
  • Step 3. Wash the blade, bin, sub-filter & peel guides – Run the parts in warm water and make sure to clean each part with a sponge and dish soap. Use a soft-bristle brush if remnants are stuck on the parts. Be careful when washing the blade. It’s very sharp.
  • Step 4. Wash the front cover & side outputs – Before washing the front cover, remove the side outputs. When cleaning the front cover, make sure to only use a sponge. A soft-bristle brush can damage the cover’s material over time. Once the cover is cleaned, wash the side outputs.
  • Step 5. Thoroughly scrub the feeding plate – The feeding plate will likely have food remnants on it. Be sure to scrub the plate thoroughly with your sponge. You might need to use a soft-bristle brush if particles are stuck on the plate.
  • Step 6. Wash the tap – Run soapy water through the 2Services tap. Brush and rinse thoroughly at both holes of the tap to remove any remnants.
  • Step 7. Disassemble the Automatic PulpOut System – Place the Automatic PulpOut System on a flat surface and disassemble the side cover. Hold it from above and remove the end guides. Remove the black upper lid by pushing upward on the tabs that stick out. Turn the assembly around, and place you fingers on the sweeping belt by pushing outward to release it. Remove the sweeping belt together with both rollers.
  • Step 8. Wash the disassembled Automatic PulpOut System – Once the Automatic PulpOut System is uninstalled, clean it in a sink with warm, soapy water. Use a sponge or soft-bristle brush to remove any stuck-on food remnants or residue. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Step 9. Wash the 1Step Extraction Kit (daily) – On a daily basis, clean the entire extraction assembly in a sink with warm water and dish soap. Scrub with a sponge, and move the juicing heads around to make sure they’re completely clean. Rinse using plenty of warm water.
  • Step 10. Disassemble the 1Step Extraction Kit (weekly) – For weekly cleanings, disassemble the extraction kit. Start by removing the peel ejectors located on the sides at the bottom. Then, remove the knob at the lower central portion of the assembly. Lift the steel handles and remove the juicing heads.
  • Step 11. Wash the disassembled 1Step Extraction Kit (weekly) – Clean all the disassembled parts of the assembly in a sink with warm water and dish soap. Scrub with a sponge, or use a soft-bristle brush to remove stuck-on food particles. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Step 12. Reassemble the machine – Now that everything is clean and dry, it’s time to reassemble the machine. Follow the disassembly procedure in reverse order. If you get stuck, refer to your owner’s manual for more assistance.
