Moyer Diebel Glasswasher Troubleshooting

This guide provides possible conditions and causes for DF Rotary and SW Pass-Through Glasswashers.
Conveyor Won't Turn
- No power to the unit – Make sure the power switch is turned on. If the is on, check if the fuse needs to be reset or the power cord needs to be plugged in.
- Drive motor is burnt out – The drive motor will need to be replaced by an authorized technician.
- Obstruction preventing wash or rinse – Check for any obstructions or blockages and remove them accordingly.
- Microswitch is out of adjustment or broken – Have an authorized technician adjust or replace the microswitch on the switch support bracket.
- Conveyor is out of position or has loose tension – Readjust the conveyor to the proper position. If the tension is too loose, adjust it with track adjusters.
- Conveyor catches on the spray tube support – Make sure the spray tube retaining clips are in the right position.
- Drive sprocket needs adjustment – Contact an authorized technician to adjust the drive chain tension or replace the sprocket if it's broken.
Too Much Spraying from Hood Section
- Splash curtain is not installed or out of position – Install the curtain and readjust accordingly.
- Spray tubes are off or out of position – See if the tubes fell off the hub or out of adjustment. Reattach them firmly to the hub connection.
- Spray tubes are clogged – Clean the spray tubes carefully using a brush, reamer and scraper.
- Washer is running without glasses – Make sure the conveyor is loaded with glasses.
Low or No Pressure in Wash Spray Tubes
- No water in the detergent tank – Check if the water supply is off. If it's on, check for the following:
- Stand pipe out of adjustment
- Fill switch is off and needs to be turned to "ON-FILL"
- Float switch or fill solenoid valve are faulty and need to be repaired by an authorized technician
- Blockage in the wash arm – Clear any obstruction in the wash arm.
- Pump isn't running – See if there is power to the unit or the pump capacitor is working. An authorized technician might need to replace the capacitor or pump if possible.
- Pump has low pressure – An authorized technician will need to check the impeller or sub shaft and replace it if needed.
- Pump supply line is clogged – Clear the line of obstruction.
Low or No Pressure in Rinse Spray Tubes
- Dirty and clogged rinse spray tubes – Clean the spray tubes carefully using a brush, reamer and scraper.
- Supply line's shut-off valve is closed – Turn the valve back on.
- Water pressure is low – Make sure the water flow pressure in your facility is at a minimum 25 PSI.
- Rinse solenoid valve's strainer is clogged – Remove the strainer and clean off any obstructions.
- Rinse solenoid valve isn't working – Have an authorized technician check the rinse solenoid valve. The technician might have to repair the coil, install a rebuild kit or replace the valve.
Low Water Temperature in the Detergent Tank
- Incoming water temperature is low – Make sure the facility's hot water supply temperature should be a minimum 145 degrees Fahrenheit (66 degrees Celsius).
- Thermostat is set too low or broken – Adjust the thermostat setting to a higher temperature. If it appears to be broken, contact an authorized technician to replace the thermostat.
- Float switch is broken – Have an authorized technician replace the faulty float switch.
- Heater is burnt out – An authorized technician will need to check and replace the heater if it's burnt out. In some cases, the technician might need to repair issue keeping water level from being above the element.
Leaking or Water Near the Unit
- Pump seal is leaking – An authorized technician will need to replace the pump seal.
- Drain screen, wash return screen, rinse drain and main drain are clogged – Remove the obstruction from any of these screens or drains. Once you've cleared the obstruction, clean the machine following instructions in the operator's manual.
- Condensation from out-of-position detergent tank covers – Make sure all top detergent tank covers are positioned correctly.
- Fill chute is dirty – Descale lime buildup in the detergent tank to clean the fill chute.
Water Flowing with the Machine Off
If water continues to flow to the detergent tank or spray tubes with the machine off, it's likely that the solenoid valve isn't seating. Try cleaning the area first. If that doesn't work, contact an authorized technician to install a diaphragm kit or replace the valve.
Chemical Containers Fill with Water
- Rinse tubes are dirty – Clean the rinse tubes following the procedures in the operation's manual.
- Worn element tubes or flow washer in the solenoid valve – Contact an authorized technician to replace the element tubes or the flow washer.
Chemicals aren't Feeding Properly
- Containers are empty – Refill the container with product.
- Product gels or crystalizes in the chemical line – Flush the lines with a combination of fresh chemicals and hot water.
- Chemical supply strainer is clogged – Clean the strainer with hot water to clear the obstruction.
- Speed setting is too low – Increase the speed setting by turning clockwise while machine is running and filling.
- Pump has no power – An authorized technician will need to replace the chemical control if the power, detergent and/or sanitize/rinse LEDs don't light.
- Pump motor is broken – Have an authorized technician replace the faulty motor pump.
- Stretched element tube – If the element tube has stretched, it will need to be replaced by an authorized technician.
