Electrolux Professional Dishwasher Cleaning
Keeping your cleaning equipment sanitary is an important step in making sure to not just spread dirt and grease around. A dishwasher requires some cleaning and maintenance to ensure that it is in top working condition. Electrolux Professional has a variety of dishwashers and they all require simple routine cleaning that anyone can perform on the equipment. Check your specific unit’s manual for any details on specific parts and chemicals that might need special attention. Below we have created a small guide on general procedures for Electrolux Professional dishwasher cleaning.
Exterior Cleaning
Cleaning the exterior of any of the dishwasher machines is simple. Using a soft rag and a stainless steel cleaner, wipe down any spots on the exterior of the dishwasher. Do not use any steel wool or abrasive tools when cleaning stainless steel. Be sure to wipe with the grain and always refer to your specific unit’s manual for any guidance on cleaning chemicals.
Interior Cleaning
The following steps are specifically for cleaning a hood-type Electrolux Professional dishwasher.
- Step 1. Remove specific internal components - Start by taking out the rack, rack support, overflow tube, top scrap tray and basket. Set these aside for later cleaning.
- Step 2. Start wash cycle - Close the door and start the wash cycle on the controller. Allow the whole cycle to run until the display says “END”.
- Step 3. Allow dishwasher to cool - Once the display shows the end of the cleaning cycle, open the door and allow the inside to cool down before moving on. This is to prevent any personal injury.
- Step 4. Remove other internal components - Take out all of the rinse & wash arms, both the upper and lower ones. Remove the bottom scrap basket as well.
- Step 5. Wash all components - Taking all of the internal components you removed in steps 1 and 5, wash them all in a sink with warm soapy water. Make sure you are using a mild detergent while cleaning. Allow them to air dry thoroughly before reinstallation.
- Step 6. Reinstall all the components - Carefully reinstall all the internal components back into the dishwasher. Ensure that all parts are securely back in place before continuing use.
Tank Filter Cleaning
For machines with a tank filter, you want to be checking to make sure it isn’t dirty or clogged. This can cause the machine to fail in cleaning dishes properly.
- Step 1. Remove the filter - Gently pull the filter from the dishwasher.
- Step 2. Clean the filter - Simply rinse the filter under a strong jet of water. If there is any build-up on the filter you can clean it using a mild detergent and soft bristle brush. Make sure to rinse it thoroughly if you are using any detergent.
- Step 3. Reinstall the filter - Once the filter is clear of any dirt or debris, reinstall it back into the dishwasher.
