Cotton Candy Machine Troubleshooting
Call it cotton candy or fairy floss, it is a delicious treat that brings in customers. If your cotton candy machine isn’t working properly you will want it up and running as quickly as possible. Below we have listed some troubleshooting problems and solutions that might help get your machine working. Always refer to your specific manufacturer’s manual for guidance on any repairs or replacements.
Machine Not Making Candy
- Not warm enough - If your cotton candy machine isn’t making the candy it might not have warmed up enough. Give it some time to heat up properly before attempting to make anything. Always check that the machine is plugged in and turned on.
- Not enough sugar - When you don’t pour in enough sugar to the machine it will not have enough sugar to heat and create cotton candy. Follow your specific machine’s manual and add enough sugar to make a portion.
- Candy is unevenly spaced - Does your machine use hard candy? If they are unevenly spaced they will not melt properly and the head won’t spin correctly. Make sure they are evenly spaced before starting.
Sugar is Burning
- Residue build-up - When you don’t clean a cotton candy machine after use, the sugar can build up and form residue on it. You will want to make sure that the machine is clean to prevent it from burning and smoking any sugar onto the heating element.
Extractor Head Not Spinning
- Dirty extractor - You might need to clean the extractor head and the machine if it is not spinning. Cleaning after each use is important and residue can build up. The sticky residue can cause the extractor head to not spin so make sure you are taking proper care of your machine.
- Faulty motor - A broken motor could be the cause for the extractor head not spinning. Check first for sugar-build up and any blockage beforehand. If those are not the issue then the motor will need replacement.
