Concordia Coffee Systems Cleaning

Keeping a clean coffee machine will prevent build-up from damaging the system. Below we have listed the daily and monthly cleaning procedures that should be completed for both the Xpress and Integra Concordia Coffee Systems. Make sure you reference the cleaning cards attached to the machine for extra detailed cleaning procedures.

Daily Cleaning

Before starting the cleaning process make sure the service switch is set to the “Clean” position for Xpress models and the “Service” position for Integra models.

  1. Clean the milk system - Every 24 hours the machine will display “Milk Clean Due” and must be cleaned within 2 hours of this. If it is not, it will stop dispensing drinks and display “Run Milk Clean!”. Once the milk system is cleaned, the system will reset and normal operation will resume. Some machine’s have an auto-rinse cycle to clean the system with steam and hot water.
  2. Clean the brew group - The brew group needs to be cleaned every 24 hours. The machine will display “Brew Clean Due” and must be cleaned within 2 hours or it will stop dispensing drinks and then display “Run Brew Clean!”. Once the milk system is cleaned, the system will reset and normal operation will resume. Some machine’s have an auto-rinse cycle to clean the system with steam and hot water.
  3. Empty the grounds bin - Remove the grounds bin for at least 10 seconds and discard the grounds. Wipe out any residue and rinse if necessary. Be sure to push the bin all the way in when placing it back in.
  4. Clean the drain grate and tray - Remove the drain grate and clean off residue with a sanitizer. For a more thorough cleaning, place it in the dishwasher. Clean the black plastic drain tray with a towel moistened with soap and water. Do not use bleach or any other chemical cleaner.
  5. Clean exterior surfaces - Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and sanitizer. Clean off the doors, front panel and the drink dispensing area using a wet towel.
  6. Clean the interior of the refrigeration unit - Wipe up any spilled milk from inside. Use soap and water to wipe down the interior walls and pick-up tube.
  7. Clean the product delivery nozzle (Xpress Models) - Wipe down the product nozzle with a mild soap and water mixture. Rinse thoroughly to prevent any excess residue.
  8. Clean the steam wand (Xpress Models) - For automatic steam wands, the system will display “Wand Clean Due” when it is time to clean the steam wand. Once the automatic steam wand is cleaned, the system will reset and normal operation will resume. For manual steam wands, wipe them down with a damp cloth at least once a day.
  9. Clean the product outlet (Integra Models) - Clean the product outlet with a mixture of mild soap and water. Use a soft cloth and rinse thoroughly.

Monthly Cleaning

Monthly cleaning of Concordia machines is important to prevent damage from build-up.

  1. Checking the air filter - Check the air filter for dust and grime build-up. If the filter is dirty it will need to be replaced with a new one. Failure to replace dirty air filters could damage the cooling system.
  2. Clean the bean hopper - Place a hopper stopper into the bean hopper and remove the bean hopper. Clean the inside of both bean hopper compartments with warm soapy water, and rinse thoroughly. Dry the inside of the hopper and refill it. Once back in place, remove the stopper.
  3. Replace the Upper Piston O-Ring (Integra Models) - Be sure to replace the o-ring every 5,000 drinks. Start by opening the doors and brushing the upper piston and o-ring area. Press both sides of the o-ring and pull it towards you. Press down on the exposed edge and roll the o-ring down and off of the upper piston. Once the o-ring is fully removed, clean the piston and o-ring groove. Position a new o-ring around the bottom of the piston and roll it up and into place in the groove. Make sure it is snugly in place. Once the o-ring is replaced, reset the o-ring counter.
