Bakers Pride Pizza Oven Troubleshooting Ranges Guide

Bakers Pride offers bakeries, restaurants, pizzerias and other commercial foodservice spaces quality equipment like their pizza ovens. Since these units are able to make delicious pizzas and more with ease, it’s important to know how to troubleshoot an issue should it ever come up. This way, your kitchen never has to slow down. No Pilot Light

  • Gas supply is shut off—Turn on gas supply
  • Shut-off valve is in the “OFF” position—Open the shut-off valve
  • Kink in valve supply tube—Check the supply tube for kinks or pinches in the line
  • Blocked supply line—Check supply like for blockages and call an authorized service tech if necessary
  • Faulty valve—Have valve replaced
  • Dirty pilot orifice—Have pilot orifice cleaned

Pilot Light Won’t Stay Lit

  • Not enough gas / low gas flow—Check gas pressure
  • Wrong orifice—Have orifice replaced to correct one
  • Blocked pilot orifice—Have pilot orifice cleaned
  • Flame’s too small—Adjust pilot flame
  • Dirty contact—Have the jumper wire at thermostat and/or thermopile cleaned and adjusted
  • Faulty thermopile or thermostat—Have thermopile/thermostat tested and replaced if necessary
  • Faulty valve—Have valve replaced if necessary

Main Burner Won’t Light

  • No gas / no pilot—Check the gas supply
  • Valve shut-off is in the “OFF” position—Open the shut-off valve
  • Blocked supply line—Check supply like for blockages and call an authorized service tech if necessary
  • Faulty valve—Have valve inspected and replaced if necessary
  • Faulty thermostat—Have thermostat inspected and replaced if necessary
  • Not enough gas—Check and test gas flow

Flame is Yellow or “Lazy”

  • Not enough air—Adjust the air mixture at inspirator
  • Not enough gas—Test the gas pressure and flow

Flame is “Lifting”

  • Too much air—Adjust the air mixture at inspirator

Flame is Flashing Back

  • Gas pressure is too high—Adjust the air mixture at inspirator

Flame Makes Popping Sound When Turned Off

  • Wrong orifice—Have orifice replaced to correct one

Flame is Too Large

  • Too much gas/over-gassed—Test the gas pressure and/or flow
  • Wrong orifice—Have orifice replaced to correct one

Ignition is Delayed

  • Burner is plugged—Clean the burner
  • Ventilation issue—Call an authorized HVAC technician

Oven Takes Too Long to Heat Up

  • Not enough gas—Test the gas supply; call authorized service technician if needed

Oven Temperature is Too High or Too Low

  • Wrong thermostat setting—Calibrate thermostat OR change thermostat setting
  • Ventilation issue—Call an authorized HVAC technician

Booster Burner Won’t Light

  • Gas valve is shut off—Turn on gas supply valve
  • Supply line is blocked—Check supply line for blockages or kinks
  • No electricity to oven—Check circuit breaker
  • Unit is unplugged—Plug in oven
  • Switch is in “OFF” position—Turn on oven
  • Issue with transformer—Have transformer replaced
  • Broken or faulty ignitor—Have ignitor replaced
  • Dirty ignitor—Have ignitor cleaned
  • Ignitor can light but doesn’t pass enough current to module—Have ignitor replaced
  • Faulty or broken module—Have module replaced

Booster Burner Won’t Stay Lit

  • No ground connection to sense rod—Have sense rod cleaned and connection tightened
  • Dirty sense rod—Clean sense rod
  • Faulty or broken sense rod—Have sense rod replaced
