Kolpak Walk-In Cooler & Freezer Troubleshooting
Regular maintenance is important to keep your Kolpak walk-in equipment running smoothly. If you run into an issue, we can help you find the troubleshooting tips you need to get your walk-in cooler or freezer up and running again.
Common Issues
Walk-in coolers and freezers can leak, over-freeze and even stop working. When these issues arise, keep our troubleshooting tips in mind. Here are some common problems and ways to fix them:
Cooler is Freezing
Melt the ice off of the evaporator and check that the fan is running properly. Next, check the coil for debris and clear the drain line.
Unit Won’t Stay Cool
Check that the temperatures, subcooling and operating pressures are normal. Also check that the door gaskets are sealing properly. The issue may also be from the compressor turning off too early. This means you’ll need to replace the compressor.
Unit Isn’t Running
Make sure the unit is plugged in and turned on. If the unit still isn’t getting power, then check the outlet. If there’s no issue with the wiring, then you’ll need to contact a certified technician.
