Preparing the Beer Dispensing System
Before you introduce beer to the system, you’ll want to complete a few steps to ensure the Perlick beer dispenser is ready to go.
- Check for leaks - Dilute a small amount of dish soap and place around the connections. If bubbles appear, tighten the connections. Once the bubbles stop, you can wipe away the solution.
- Prime the pump - connect the return coolant line to a fresh water source. With the circulating pump on, charge the coolant lines with water. Once charged, disconnect the water source.
- Adjust the coolant temperature - While the temperature is regulated by the temperature control on the left outside wall of the unit, you can adjust it. It’s recommended that the unit be between 29-31° F.
Perlick Beer Dispenser Operating Instructions
Once you have your system installed, and prepared, you can start it up. Simply follow these instructions to get your beer dispenser up and running:
- Clean the beer system - Cleaning the lines will ensure a fresh first pour.
- Energize the power pak - Once it’s powered up, let it cool for a minimum of an hour.
- Tap pre-cooled beer - After the power pak is cooled, fill up the tap with pre-cooled beer and introduce it into the system.
- Set the secondary regulators - Set the regulators at the factory recommended pressures found on the dispensing station tag. Fine tune as needed.
Check the power pak reservoir with the coolant lines full - If you need more coolant, fill the unit with straight water.
