Crathco G-Cool Series cold beverage dispensers allow restaurants to serve refreshing drinks to customers quickly and efficiently. The machines were designed with users in mind, so operating and maintaining them is very straightforward.

Although the machines are top-notch, some issues do still occur on occasion. With this Crathco G-Cool Series dispenser troubleshooting guide, you can identify and resolve issues as soon as they appear so that you can keep the drinks flowing.

No Refrigeration

  • Unit isn't plugged in - Check to make sure the unit is plugged into a wall outlet. 
  • Electrical cord isn't plugged into the unit - See if the electrical cord is plugged into a wall outlet but not into the unit. 
  • Power switch isn't turned “ON” - Turn unit “ON.”
  • Compressor doesn't run - Schedule an appointment with a technician to service the unit.
  • Faulty thermostat - Call a technician to remedy the issue.

No Refrigeration or Only Partial Refrigeration (Compressor Is Running)

  • Condenser is clogged with dust or lint - Unplug the unit, remove the panels and clean the inside of the machine (including the condenser). Use a vacuum cleaner or bottle brush to clean out the lint and dust.
  • Evaporator is dirty - Clean evaporator and bowl surfaces.
  • Machine isn't spraying or agitating properly - See “Machine Not Spraying or Mixing (Spray Motor Is Running)” and “Machine Not Spraying Or Mixing (Noisy Impeller)”
  • Fan motor is faulty - Contact a technician to replace the motor.
  • Pump motor is faulty - Schedule an appointment with a service technician.
  • Thermostat is faulty or not set properly - Contact a technician to service the thermostat.
  • Loss of refrigerant - Call a service technician to remedy the issue.

NOTE: Unit must spray or agitate properly to provide refrigeration. 

Machine Not Spraying Or Mixing

  • The impeller doesn’t spin - If the impeller is worn, replace the impeller and / or sleeve. If the impeller is not worn, clean both the impeller and the bearing sleeve.
  • Impeller makes noise and / or doesn’t spin properly - Contact a service technician to raise the drive magnet higher on the motor shaft. 
  • Spray motor isn’t running - Call a licensed technician to service the unit. 
  • Pump isn’t assembled or installed correctly - Reassemble and reinstall the pump correctly.
  • Pump motor magnet isn’t adjusted - Schedule a service call with a technician.

Leaky Bowl

  • Gasket is installed improperly - Reinstall the gasket. Be sure to check to review the bowl assembly directions. 
  • Bowl gasket is worn or nicked - Replace the gasket. Review the manual for instructions.
  • Bowl is cracked - Replace the bowl.
  • Pin in bowl broke, leaving a hole - Replace the bowl.

Leaky Valve

  • Valve, O-ring or valve stem is dirty - Clean the valve and O-ring.
  • Valve isn’t securely in place - Push and twist the valve to make sure it is tight.
  • O-ring is nicked or cut - Replace the O-ring.
  • O-ring is twisted and doesn't fit properly - Remove and reinstall the O-ring.

Noisy Unit

  • Fan motor or spray motor(s) have worn bearings - Contact a technician to replace the motor(s).
  • Fan blade is bent - Call a technician to correct the alignment. 
  • Pump motor bearings are faulty - Schedule a service visit with a licensed technician.
  • Pump isn't installed correctly - Reinstall the pump correctly.
  • Impeller is chattering - Contact a technician to check the drive magnet height.
  • Impeller surface is worn - Replace the impeller and / or sleeve.
  • Impeller is broken - Replace the impeller.
  • Bowl or pump was installed when the unit was “ON” - Turn unit “OFF” and reinstall parts.
